Composing a Beautiful Garden: Robin Spielberg on Art, Flowers, and the Purpose of Gardening (Part II)

In part two of my conversation with talented solo pianist, composer, and educator Robin Spielberg, we continue exploring the story behind her stunning 20-year-old native, perennial, and ornamental garden in southern York County, PA.

If you haven’t watched part one yet, I highly recommend starting there before getting into this second half.

In this section, Robin shares her hands-on strategies for managing her sprawling garden, including what she considers to be the most important gardening lesson she’s ever learned (it might surprise you). She also offers thoughtful advice for anyone just getting started or interested in growing flowering plants, reveals the one input her garden can’t live without, and talks about her future goals for expanding her repertoire.

I hope you enjoy the interview—it was a delight to conduct.

If you’d like to check out Robin’s work or join us on her livestream this Friday (June 6th), please visit her website here.

Cheers to summer!
